Plankalkul
今日から始まったデブサミより。
FORTRANより古いやんけ、ということでPlankalkul（Plankalkuel）を調べてみた。
ツーゼの設計だったのか。設計時期は1940年代だけど、処理系がはじめて実装されたのは1998年。実装時期に限って言えば、Rubyと似たような時期ってことで、言語ヲタのまつもとさんの目にとまったのかな？
In 1948 Zuse published a paper about the Plankalkül in the "Archiv der Mathematik" but still did not attract much feedback - for a long time to come programming a computer would only be thought of as programming with machine code.（中略）The German term "Kalkül" means formal system – the Hilbert-style deduction system is for example originally called "Hilbert-Kalkül", so Plankalkül means "formal system for planning".
最初は計算機プログラミングの手段ではなく、アルゴリズムの形式的な記述の方法として考えられたものか。10年以上後に発表されるLispと共通する部分がある先駆的な試みだったけど、いかんせん登場が早すぎた（時代が追いついていなかった）のが残念だ。
